Up for adoption

Twice a year, Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun than Housework holds a "quilty adoption" event, where people can offer their unwanted quilty projects to others who who will want them and love them and finish them.  Great idea, isn't it?  I think so, so today I am offering some kits for quilty adoption to someone who will do just that--love them and finish them.  Here they are:

These are two unstarted McKenna Ryan kits from the Home Tweet Home line.  Each of these make one 8 by 8 block.  These are laser-cut fusible applique kits, with all the pieces already cut (but not completely punched out) and labeled, with fusible already on the back so that you can skip right to the assembly part.  The background fabric is also included, along with beads and other little trinkets for embellishments.  Complete instructions are included, along with a full-size diagram.

Also included is this piece:

Yep, this is an already-fused piece for a completely different kit in the same line.  The main pieces are already fused but not embellished, and all of the embellishments are still in the envelope, along with the diagrams and patterns in case you want to make another one.  Also included, but not in the photograph, is an 8 by 8 stretched canvas, still in the package.  I had this idea that I would make all three and display them on canvases after quilting and embellishing, but I never did it.

I am offering these free to one lucky winner!  All I really want is for these to go to someone who will commit to finishing them, though you don't have to finish them according to my original idea.  These would make a nice table runner or wall hanging, or anything your heart desires. This giveaway is open internationally, but if you are overseas I'll ask you to split the shipping with me.  This would still be quite a deal!

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post!  To make it a little more fun, how about suggesting a movie or TV show to stream while I sew?  I could use the suggestions because I'm just about done with The Crown. I will choose the winner randomly using a random number generator on Monday, March 20, the first day of spring.  How appropriate for these cute little birdies!

The adoption is now closed!  Thanks to everyone, and congratulations to Thearica.

The last number has to come up randomly some times!

Good luck to everyone, and be sure to stop over at Cynthia's to see the other projects up for adoption.

Sharing at the quilty adoption linkup.

These McKenna Ryan patterns are so cute! I would love to finish them up as a wall hanging for my mom. Right now I'm watching the show Eureka while I'm sewing, it's pretty entertaining.

This is a failry fun idea to have all the shapes already laser cut and ready to be applied. I am sure they will go to good home =)
'How to get away with murder' was entertaining enough.

What a fun project for spring! I have been wanting to teach my grand daughter different applique techniques. I know she would really enjoy these! I have enjoyed the movie "Woman in Gold" starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds, about a woman trying to reclaim a painting stolen from her family by the Nazi's in world war II.

Since you like historical fiction, I recommend Mad Men. It is a series, so you won't have to worry about what to watch next for a while.

Oops, I wasn't trying to suggest The Crown was fiction. I meant historical. I also liked Victoria, which was on PBS.

Oh, those kits are lovely! Bird and nature themes are particular favorites of mine. Mini quilts? Table runner? Not sure just what they would become, but they would be gorgeous. I'm not a big movie or TV person but there are a few series that USA did that I enjoyed. Two of them are "Covert Affairs" and "White Collar". If you haven't seen them, they might be worth a look.

Lucky 13 here, lol, I'd love to adopt your excess I've admired McKenna Ryan's patterns and kits for years but have never purchased one yet. This would be a terrific win and get my toes in the water so to speak at the same time.

What beautiful kits, especially since they are from my favorite designer and the fact that my house is decorated with birds and birdhouses. These kits would get made up quickly and up on my wall in the entry. As for movies, if you have Netflix "Lark Rise to Candleford" was recommended to me and I am enjoying watching as I stitch, if you can find it I hope you will enjoy it as I am. Thank you for such a generous "Adoption"

It's a great idea and I'm sure there are lots of somebodies who will enjoy them! I really enjoyed The Magic of Belle Isle on Netflix, and am currently watching an Australian series called Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, also on Netflix, a turn of the century setting.

Love love this giveaway I also love birds and birdhouses which also adds to the fun. Thanks for the chance to win. Sorry no suggestions for tv watching...

I have a companion piece to the birdhouse ones but it was not a laser cut, took awhile to cut out the pieces. I enjoyed doing it and have the finished piece on my wall. I do not have any suggestion on what to watch I get bored and go into the sewing room.

Sorry I forgot about the TV shows. I know I sound old fashioned, but I don't really watch anything modern. I love Murder She Wrote for a TV show and I watch lots of old movies, It Happened One Night, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, A Woman's Face, and the Thin Man series, are a few of my old favorites

With everything already to go, I could probably do these. I don't know what you like in the way of movies or TV shows, but I like mysteries, and often watch reruns of Columbo, Diagnosis Murder, Murder She Wrote and the Father Dowling Mysteries.

I hope I am sliding in under the wire... I love McKenna Ryan designs! My aunt loves birds everything... I bet she has 20 bird clocks in her home.. I kid you not. Her birthday is coming up and a tablerunner for her would put a huge smile on her face!

We love to watch Homeland and Billions. Ad if you aren't in to those type shows, I love I Love Lucy and Mayberry.. you can never go wrong with either of those. :)

Happy quilting and than you for your generosity!
